Central Coast Gallery
This photo was taken on Moonstone Beach in Cambria.
On a winter day, you will often find this area nearly occur in
January, February and March. The flat sandy beach and
boardwalk along the bluffs make this beach easily
accessible.
All photos by Charles MacKinnon.
The Central Coast of California is paradise for a photographer.
expansive vistas at every turn.
From
Cayucos to Carmel, most areas of coastline are now
protected from development. The coastal hills and shores
remain unspoiled and wildlife is abundant.
Every spring, the hills are a riot of color as the
wildflowers come
into bloom.
Marine life is easily observable from shore. Sea lions and
harbor seals blanket the rocks near offshore, and sea otters
frolic in the kelp beds. Great shots of
elephant seals can be
taken any time of year at
Piedras Blancas near San Simeon.
Driving through Big Sur, you could just point the camera at
random and get a good shot. The area is so awesomely
beautiful.
Waterfalls, redwood forests, birds....the subjects are endless.
We carry our cameras everywhere. Some of our best shots are
taken just steps from our door.
